Hi mamas! I'm Kristin, a lover of Jesus, wife + mama to 6 beautiful, crazy loves, and all things sourdough, gardening, chickens, bees and homeschooling.
My hubby is born and raised in Alaska. I moved to the Golden Heart City when I was 9 years old and it is the only home I have ever known. Hubby and I have been married 20 years in December of '23 and we have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We've pulled through when things were bleak, and have committed to fighting for our marriage, even when the desert is dry.
I have homeschooled for over 13 years, graduated my oldest daughter at 16, and have children ranging from 17 to 1 years old. Life. Is. Full! My hands love to find creativity on a keyboard, in the coop, in the soil, learning hives, and all things homemaking. Making a beautiful home doesn't have to be bougie. My favorite way to freshen up a space is garden fresh flowers, a crisp coat of white paint, and antique knobs.
This blog came out of my experiences. This is my landing page to share my journey being humbled in my role as a wife and mother. I want to bring joy and hope to mamas that feel battle weary and a bit unseen. I'd like to encourage you to be brave, trust Jesus has a future full of hope for you, try new things, start a kombucha mother, sourdough starter, kefir grain, homemade pasta kitchen. I may show you how to build your own raised bed, closet daybed for a toddler, refinish hardwoods, clean out a chicken coop or harvest honey. I'll chat curriculum (or lack thereof) being outside, and learning to laugh more with your children (I still need help in this department). There's going to be a bit of everything over here in the frigid north.
As a visitor here, you are part of a loving community of mamas in the trenches, doing life together, sharing hope, being courageous. Your comments provide me with the encouragement to keep sharing, keep baking, keep loving. I hope that these words reach someone who truly needs them.
